First, let me say that I have ordered 4 units from Fingercomber previously, and have purchased their Havana Hair, and have never had any problems. I recently purchased the Sof Kinx Unit with highlights.

Of all the photos featuring the Sof Kinx unit, there was 1 photo featuring a unit with highlights in the front. I ordered the unit with highlights thinking it matched the only picture of a unit with highlights (featured on the website). However, when the unit arrived, it was not as pictured. The unit contained muted colors throughout.

When I contacted Fingercomber, I wrote the following email, "Hello! I received my Sof-Kinx unit yesterday, and unfortunately, it doesn't look like the photos on the website. I LOVE Fingercomber and have bought products for both myself and my sister (and, have been gifted a unit from my husband). Between the gifted unit and the one I have purchased for myself and my sisters, I have experience with 4 units (plus the havana hair), and this is the first time I have been dissatisfied with an order.

The highlights on the Sof-Kinx unit appear to be a more muted color than the photo, and in the photo you cannot see that the highlights are scattered throughout, leaving me to believe that the highlights were only in the front. Also, from the photos, I expected more volume, but the unit I received looks incredibly limp and looks (on me) like a long s curl. I have not worn this wig, and will not wear this wig. However, I did place it on my head (with a wig cap) to see if I could make the unit work, and I cannot.

Please let me know what can be done about this. I would like to send the unit back in the original packaging, for a full refund. Many thanks in advance!" I was told to send photos of my unit. I sent photos of the unit, and sent the screenshot of the unit featured on the website.

Fingercomber responded, "That photograph is not of the SK with highlights. We used color hairspray to give it that effect. The unit that you received is our Sof Kinx with highlights." When I replied that their pictures were misleading, Fingercomber responded that they would send me a bottle of hairspray to achieve the same look. I said, I do not want to alter the unit, or buy hairspray to make the unit look like what I thought I was purchasing.

I want to return the unit. I intended to purchase the unit that was pictured, and that is not what was sent, and am disappointed that the company would engage in false advertising. I also suggested that if the unit has hairspray then, it should be very clear on the webpage that the unit pictured was altered (and describe how the look was achieved). Fingercomber responded, "I am not sure how this was false advertising.

We never stated that the picture you viewed was the sof-kinx with highlights. You made that assumption. If you had contacted us prior to purchasing I could have showed you a picture of this product if you wanted to see it or confirm it. Our products are final sale, we do not accept them for returns or exchanges." Although Fingercomber never stated that the photo was altered, it is reasonable to conclude that anyone who was looking to order a unit with highlights and viewed the only photo of a unit with highlights would conceivably think the unit pictured is the unit they are ordering.

Additionally, if a photo exists of the actual unit, then why not upload the photo of the actual unit to the website?!?!?! In addition to the color, I also complained about the volume. Fingercomber claims the volume is fine. The volume is not fine.

The unit looks nothing like the volume represented on the website. Bottomline: the unit that I received was not as pictured - the color was not as shown and the volume was not as depicted. Lastly, I asked if there was a phone number on which I could reach them, and offered my phone number. Fingercomber told me there is no phone in the office.

Uh, what? In my response, I said they could call me from any phone (and block their number). After 3 days of email exchanges, we could have arrived at the same conclusion in a matter of 5 minutes if we had spoke on the phone.

False and misleading advertising coupled with horrid customer service, is why I am writing this review.

The first photo is of the unit I received. It 1) does not look like the only photo on the website with highlights (the 2nd photo) and 2) does not have the volume depicted in either the 2nd or 3rd photo.

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Monetary Loss: $82.

Preferred solution: Full refund.
